Normalcy returns to Imo community after suspected herdsmen attack

The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Olando Ikoku, disclosed this to News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Owerri.

Ikoku said that the command had launched investigation into the matter and assured that the suspects would be apprehended.

News Agency of Nigeria recalls that one person was allegedly killed and another critically injured by the attackers of the village.

Many residents of the community fled the area for safety, while youths combed the area in search of the suspected herdsmen.

He said that the commissioner assured them that police would apprehend the suspects soon.

“They also agreed to allow peace to reign in the area and I assure you now that peace and normalcy have returned to the area,” he said.

The PRO, who confirmed that no arrest had been made over the incident, assured that police would unravel the identity of the attackers.
