NYSC members in Delta tasked on good use of ideals, objectives of scheme

Issele-Uku (Delta), April 16, 2019 The Acting Governor of Delta, Kingsley Otuaro, has tasked the Batch “A” members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to make good use of the ideals and objectives of NYSC scheme .

Otuaro, represented by the state Commissioner for Higher Education, Mr Jude Sinebe, gave the task at the completion of 21-day training of the corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Issele-Uku on Tuesday.

He said that the corps members should engage in skills acquisition programmes, take them seriously and make good use of them.

According to him, the skills will make them to be complete individuals and prepare them to be wealth creators and employers of labour.

The acting governor said that Delta was committed to encouraging on-hand training among youths which necessitated the establishment of several skill training centers across the state.

He advised the corps members to contribute their quota to the communities where they would do their primary assignments and serve as agents of positive transformation and development.

Otuaro also urged Chairmen of Local Government Areas where they would be deployed and the traditional rulers to ensure their seamless integration into the communities.

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr Omotade Ayodele, said the corps members had fully completed the 21-day training and imbibed the spirit of perseverance and endurance to surmount challenges.

Ayodele admonished the corps members to be positive role models to the children and youths whom they would be interacting with in the course of their service.

He also advised them to keep their good name and make use of the skills acquired to make their communities better.
