The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has called on all sons and daughters of Iru Kingdom to cooperate with the new monarch, the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal.
Akanbi made the call during a courtesy visit to the new Oniru’s palace in Lagos on Tuesday.
The traditional ruler urged the Oniru to extend hand of fellowship to his subjects in order to take Iru Kingdom to enviable heights.
Akanbi described kingship as a position of service, which he noted was not alien to the new Oniru having been a public servant for many years.
He prayed for successful reign for the Oniru and peaceful co-existence among Iru subjects.
In his response, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom, thanked the Oluwo for the visit and his kind words.
Lawal was installed as the 15th Oniru of Iruland on June 7.
Before his installation, the monarch had served as a former Commissioner for Housing and Agriculture in Lagos State.
