The Ondo State Football Association (FA) has inaugurated its Election Monitoring Committee as it set new dates for elections into local and state councils.

The FA said on Tuesday in a communique at the end of its congress in Akure that it resolved that there should be an election monitoring committee, drawn from different partners of the association to ensure there was a level playing ground for contestants.

The communique, signed by Fadoju Moses as Chairman and Aderemi Adetula as Secretary and Mr Samuel Patani as member, said that refrees and coaches were advised to do the needful to ensure their members participated fully in the election.

It said the members of the monitoring committee as agreed by the congress were Silvester Ikuejamoye, Raphael Imoleyin, Ade Gbangba and Segun Giwa.

The communique disclosed that the election for local council was June 25 and that of the council would be on June 27.

The elections were earlier scheduled for June 11 and June 18 until the NFF put the exercise on hold.

“The congress passed a vote of confidence on the electoral committee and resoved the issue of Appeal Committee.

“The congress also resolved that no qualified candidates for any of the elections should be disqualified,” the communique said.

Speaking with newsmen after the congress, Otunba Dele Ogungbemi said he was happy that all lingering issues had been resolved and was happy to have inaugurated the peace meeting among the aggrieved members.

Ogungbemi urged the members of the congress to abide by the agreements reached and let sanity return to the state FA.
