Dele Ajayi, the FA Chairman, made the appeal when the FA board members visited the commissioner on Wednesday in Akure.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the visit was the first in the series of meetings by the commissioner to meet relevant stakeholders in sports in the state.
Besides, Ajayi urged the commissioner to separate the association’s budget from the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA).
He implored the commissioner to help plead with the football agency to pay up affiliation fees of Sunshine Stars before the start of the new season.
The FA chairman urged the commissioner to correct the situation where the representative of the FA on the ODSFA board should be full time and not a part time member.
Ajayi also requested the commissioner to provide a vehicle for the FA to carry out its functions effectively.
Responding, Owanikin, an ex-footballer, said he would cooperate with the FA and promised to speak with the authorities of ODSFA about its requests.
Owanikin, who is a member of the National Institute of Sports, said that he would restore the good old days of Sunshine Stars, hence the need for the FA and the ODSFA to work in harmony.
