Only committed trainees will henceforth get NDE’s resettlement loan, says D-G

The Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Alhaji Nasir Ladan, says only committed trainees will henceforth benefit from the directorate’s resettlement loan.

Ladan made this known Tuesday in Yola while inaugurating a three-month orientation for 630 trainees for Basic National Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS) in Yola South of Adamawa.

Represented by Mr Ibrahim Musa, a Senior Vocational Training Officer, Ladan urged beneficiaries to show commitment to the training so as to benefit from the loan package to enable them set up their businesses.

While reiterating the commitment of NDE to its mandate of training youths for job creation, Ladan said they should count themselves lucky for being among those selected for the skills acquisition programme.

The NDE Coordinator,  Malam Ibrahim Faisal said 30 beneficiaries were selected from each of the 21 local government areas in the state.

Faisal said the trainees would be given monthly stipend during the training duration in various skills including fashion design, barbing, computer and electrical installation.

Hassan Umar, who spoke on behalf of the trainees, lauded NDE for the programme and gave assurance that they would reciprocate by dedicating themselves to the training.

Nigeria News Agency also reports that the NDE also began its School on Wheel training programme for 50 beneficiaries in Yola South Local Government Area which the council’s Vice-Chairman, Mr Elisha Kefas, described the programme as “timely”.

Kefas said the training was in line with the newly elected council’s commitment towards youth and women empowerment programme.

“This programme is in line with our campaign promises to empower the youths and women in Yola South.

“It’s a welcome one and we are going to support NDE to ensure its success in Yola South,” Kefas said.
