Pegyi Utd FC of Kuje on Wednesday defeated Flying Parrots 3-0 in the first match of the Kuje Chairmanship Soccer cup competition played at the Kuje Township Stadium.
The Nigeria News Agency , reports that Pegyi’s first goal was scored by Sani Ibrahim in the 20th minute, with Flying Parrots’ Afalul Hassan failing to even scores when wasted a penalty in the 60th minute.
With Flying Parrots losing steam in the second half, Bilal Abdullahi scored two goals in quick succession to give Pegyi Utd a 3-0 victory.
Speaking after the match, Pegyi Utd FC Coach, Abdularasheed Bako, commended his boys for a wonderful performance.
“It was a good outing; my boys played very well. I am happy we won,” he said.
In his reaction, Chris Ochefu, Flying Parrots FC Coach, said that the officiating was not fair.
“My boys were denied scoring chances. The game has been won and lost but the referee was biased. It is this attitude that is killing Nigerian football,” he fumed.
