Taiwo Oladipupo, coach of the Nigeria Police Super Force female volleyball team, on Monday said the team would work hard to earn promotion into the sport’s 2020 premier league.
Oladipupo told the Nigeria News Agency in Abuja his team was ready to do this by improving on earlier performances during the second phase of the division one League.
NAN reports that the team won their group with nine points in the first phase of the tournament in Ilorin in July.
“We had a good outing in Ilorin in the first phase of the league. We won all our games to top the female group. We are ready to replicate this performance in the second round next month.
“Our players have been training morning and afternoon so as to have a wonderful performance in the second round of the league.
“We need to reinforce the team for the new season, and we have been working hard on the lapses we discovered during the competition in Ilorin.
“All the players are determined to have an excellent performance. With seriousness, dedication and determination they can achieve their goal which is to feature in the premier league next year,’’ the coach said.
He said the management of the club was set to give the team all the necessary support that would encourage them to have a brilliant performance.
NAN reports that the Imo state team ended the first phase of the league with six points to take the second position.
NAN also reports that the second phase of the league will hold from Oct. 16 to Oct. 23 in Bauchi.
The competition will determine the team which would be promoted to the male and female premier league next year.(NAN)
