Abuja, Feb. 2019 (NNN) The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) on Saturday called on women and youths to remain resolute and determined to fulfill their civic rights on Feb. 23.
Mrs Gloria Shoda, the President of NCWS, who made the call in a statement in Abuja, said that the postponement was not in the best interest of the nation.
“I call on women to be patient and peaceful following the postponement of the 2019 Presidential Elections.
”I call on all our women and youths, especially the NCWS observers and others that have spent money and risked their lives to travel to different parts of the country to observe or cast their votes to be resolute and more determined to fulfill their civic rights whenever INEC is ready.
”We must all make the sacrifice to save our democracy. Our PVCs determine the future of our children and our dear country,’’ she said.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) early hours of Feb. 16, announced the postponement of the presidential and national assembly elections to Feb. 23. (NNN)
