S/Arabia assures Nigeria of smooth Hajj, Umrah operations

Mr Adnan Bostaji, the Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Nigeria, on Thursday assured Nigeria of smooth Hajj and Umrah operations.

He said the Saudi Arabian authorities are doing everything possible to ensure hitch-free Hajj and Umrah exercise for Nigerian pilgrims and other Muslim nations across the world.

Bostaji said this during the presentation of 2019 Hajj Excellence Award organised by the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), an NGO, in Abuja.

He explained that the custodians of the two holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah are working tirelessly to make Hajj exercise as easy as possible for Nigerian pilgrims and other pilgrims across the world.

”King Salman bin Abdull-Azeez Al-saud and the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman are doing alot to help pilgrims and to make Hajj as easy as possible.

”No doubt, the government of Saudi Arabia consider it as one of its main duties to give the best service to pilgrims who comes from different countries around the world.

”We will continue to work with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and all other stakeholders to ensure smooth performance of Hajj every year,” Bostaji said.

The Saudi envoy commended membets of the IHR for their hardwork and professionalism through their well informed and accurate reportage of 2019 Hajj exercise.

Bostaji however urged them to sustain the tempo.

”Let me say here that, the best so far, more than ninety media reports were recorded before, during and after Hajj last year and the Independent Hajj Reporters has the largest part of these reports.

”Along with other media houses in Nigeria, the Independent Hajj Reporters has contributed effectively in covering last year’s Hajj,” he said.

Bostaji therefore thanked the organisers of the award and encouraged them to continue with their good work in accurate reportage of Hajj activities.

He also used the occasion to thank the Federal Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NAHCON for their usual cooperation in facilitating Hajj and Umrah activities.
