Alhaji Abdulrahman Maigoro, the Chairman, Keffi Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, has advised Nigerian youths to seek education in order to excel in life and bring development to the country.

Maigoro gave the advice while speaking with newsmen during Eid-el-Kabir celebrations on Sunday in Keffi.

While stressing the importance of education to the development of any society, he reminded the youths and Nigerians in general that no meaningful development could be achieved without sound education.

He congratulated Muslim faithful on the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, urging them and the adherents of other religions to show love and tolerance to one another in the interest of peace and development.

“I want to use this medium to appeal to our youths and to pursue education with the seriousness it deserves because it is the only antidote to poverty and the route to success.

“Just as knowledge is power, education is the bedrock of development in any society. When a person is well-educated, he becomes better informed and will be able to move outside his cocoon,” he said.

Maigoro also urged the Muslim ummah and other Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Kabir festival to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country.

He enjoined Nigerians to be law-abiding, respect constituted authorities and live in peace, for the overall development of the country.

The council boss reiterated his administration’s continued commitment to making life more meaningful to the people of his area through the execution of policies and programmes that would have direct benefits to them.
