Port Harcourt, Feb 20, 2019 Several military personnel were on Wednesday deployed to the  Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Rivers Branch, to secure sensitive election materials.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the armed soldiers patrolled the bank/secretariat road to ensure that nothing ugly happened to the materials.

However, the exercise did not affect vehicular movements and other daily activities due to the location of the Rivers Secretariat which shares boundary with the bank.

The election materials earlier  delivered to the 23 local government areas in the state for the presidential and national assembly polls were returned and kept in CBN.

The rescheduled elections have been slated for Feb 23.
