Enugu, Feb. 6, 2019 (NAN) Godwin Aguda, striker of Rangers International FC, Enugu, has assured fans of the club of more goals as the team soars higher in the 2018/2019 season of the Total/CAF Cup competition.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Aguda is the leading goal scorer in the current Total/CAF Cup competition with six goals in seven matches so far played by Ranger.
He told newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday that the extra hours of training he puts in after the regular one by his coaches was responsible for his goal rush in the competition.
“It can only be God’s grace coupled with the support of my team mates and coaches that has seen me get this far in the competition.
“No doubt, the extra training I put myself through after our regular training has also been helpful,’’ he said.
Aguda, who played a great part in Rangers’ league triumph in 2016, said that “by the grace of God, I have set a target of double goal digit in the competition.
“I am indeed very happy at the number of goals that I have been scoring for my team to help us get this far in the competition and it can only get better.
“By God’s grace, I believe that I will hit the double digit figure that is 12 or 13 goals, before the end of the competition.
“Remember, we, Rangers, still have eleven more games to play.
“It is my desire to export my God-given football talents overseas for better appreciation after helping my current club, Rangers realise our targets for the current season.”
On the match Day 2 encounter in Rades, Tunisia against C.S Sfaxien, who had earlier gotten a win on match day 1 against fellow country-club, Etoile de Sahel, Aguda sadded; “We respect every team we play against.
“We hope to come back with a respectable result.’’ (NAN)
