Stakeholders in Bwari commend youth association on projects

Stakeholders in Bwari Area Council of the FCT have commended the progressive projects executed by the Achajebwa Youth Association in the council.

They gave the commendation on the sidelines of the unveiling of a high tower gate constructed by the association at the entrance of the Etsu Bwari Palace, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Nigeria News Agency reports that the association is a collection of Bwari Gbagyi youths who came together for the promotion of development at the grassroots.

Mr Micah Jiba, House of Representative member, AMAC/Bwari constituency, while commending the effort of the youths said that the initiative signified the presence of a palace and was worthy of emulation.

According to him, it was obvious that there is a positive change in the mindset of the youths in the area, who he described as people who love their community.

“I salute their courage; it is not easy to indulge in projects like this without the support of the government. It is obvious that our youths have changed.

“This should be a take home to other youths in other communities who are still struggling to stay positive.

“By the grace of God, this is not the end of their initiative but the beginning of good things to come and better days ahead,” he said

Jiba charged the youths to remain resolute in their efforts while also promising to give them the desired support for the progress of the community.

Also speaking, the Wazirin Bwari, Mr Philemon Darah, said that the project was well conceived and well executed by the youths.

According to him, the move indicates a dedicated youths for the future.

The initiative, Darah said, had displayed a sense of concern and care for the development of the community and the zeal to make an impact in the society.

He advised that government at all levels must encourage and support the youths to achieve their dreams through their various endeavours.

In his remarks, the Etsu Bwari, Mr Ibrahim Yaro, thanked the association for the gesture while also praying that all youths in the community would emulate the effort and turned their negative energy to a positive one.

Yaro said that the structure had not only beautified the palace but the entire community.

He added that the effort would go a long way in showcasing the strength, zeal and passion for development of a dedicated youth forum in the community.

Mr David Dakoyi, who spoke on behalf of the association, said that the group was keen about promoting development especially at the grassroots.

According to Dakoyi, the group has also engaged in promoting quality education for students through tutorials and career seminars for higher institution seekers.

He also said that the group was involved in empowering the young and vulnerable, through skills acquisition.

The group, Dakoyi explained, was in partnership with other organisations that had helped to achieve its development goals.

He, however, said that the group was still open to more partnership in order to meet the socio-economic needs of the people.

Dakoyi noted that the construction of a similar structure at the alternate entrance into the palace was underway. (NAN)
