Aba (Abia) April 24, 2019 Mr Ugochukwu Alaribe, a  Vanguard Newspaper reporter in Aba, Abia, on Tuesday begged police authorities to save his life and his family, following two burglaries by unknown thieves in house one week.

Alaribe made the call while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Aba on the challenges the robbery had caused his family.

The journalist said the thieves stormed his house on Tuesday and Friday and made away with everything in sight that was of value.

He said the things they took from his Ogbor Hill residence include, laptops, television set, clothing, undisclosed amount of money and other personal belongings.

Alaribe said the hoodlums gained entrance into his house through the ceiling of an adjourning building through which they entered his main residence.

He said when they came earlier, they took away his work tools, including his laptop and other personal effects but four days later, they returned and  took what they could not go with earlier.

“I left home for work and there was no one at home.

“My wife returned home at about 2.35p.m and saw our doors open but when she went into the house; she discovered that my 2 laptops, her clothing, a Techno phone and cash have all been taken away.

“On Friday, when we had left for our businesses, they struck again in the afternoon.

“They took away the flat screen television set, our wedding gifts, clothing, phone chargers and some materials my wife bought for sale.

“All the household items I laboured for in life have been taken away. I need protection from the Police now because I have the feeling that my family is no longer safe.

“I am appealing to the security agencies in Aba to rise up to the increasing level of insecurity in the city,” Alaribe said.

The journalist, who said he had reported the incident to the Ogbor Hill Police Division, urged the security agencies to fish out the culprits behind the criminal act and prosecute them.

The Aba Area Commander, ACP Peter Opara, confirmed the incident by telephone to NNN.
