Gwagwalada (FCT), Feb. 21, 2019 The University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada, on Thursday awarded 51 of its staff with award of excellence in service.
The staff were also recognised for their dedication, hard work and commitment to duty.
Prof. Bishalla Ekele, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, while presenting the awards urged them to be more dedicated and encouraged to develop the health sector in the country.
According to him, they were recognised for exemplifying the organisation’s core values, integrity and personal excellence.
“The essence of this award is to give honour to whom it is due, and to encourage the award winners to do more in discharging their duties.
“The organisation’s annual award also underlines the excellence and selflessness of hard working staff to inspire them for the better.
“As they receive this award they should remain faithful to their work ethics in order to take the health sector to greater heights,” he said.
He assured the workers of the management’s commitment to better their welfare in the coming years and called on them to continue to exhibit the traits of hard work to surpass precious records.
Dr Bob Ukonu, SERVICOM Officer of the hospital, revealed that criteria used for selecting the awardees were based on punctuality, availability and morality at work.
Miss Blessing Adusa, speaking on behalf of other award winners, thanked the organisation for the kind gesture and promised to be more dedicated to her duties.
