Development: Nasarawa Commissioner drums support for Gov. Sule



Mr Dogo Shammah, Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, has called for continued support and prayer for Gov. Abdullahi Sule in his quest to deliver the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

Shammah made the call on Friday while speaking at a meeting with traditional rulers in Wamba Local Government area of the state.

The commissioner said that every individual and leader needed the support of his people to succeed, hence the need for the call.

Shammah said that the meeting was initiated to familiarise himself with the royal father and seek their blessings and support to enable him succeed in his assignment.

According to him, the governor had many good policies and programmes on ground, adding that he needed people’s support to actualise them.

“I want to thank you for the support accorded me since my appointment as a commissioner, and as your son, I promise that I will not disappoint you, by God’s grace.

“I will continue to do my best for the development of the state and the country at large.

“I must tell you that Gov. Abdullahi Sule has many good policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state. He, therefore, needs your support to actualise those policies and programmes.

Shammah assured of his ministry’s commitment to promoting cultural activities and tourism in order to improve on the revenue base of the state.

He urged the people of the state to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another, irrespective of their ethnic or religious affiliation to ensure development.

In his remarks, the Oriye Rindre, Alhaji Lawal Musa-Nagogo described Shammah as a true ‘son of the soil’, who had respect for elders and all kinds of people in the area and the state at large.

Musa-Nagogo, who is the Chairman, Wamba Traditional Council of Chiefs, enjoined the commissioner to continue to discharge his duties without fear or favour.

The traditional ruler noted that the meeting would go a long way in fast tracking peace and development in the area.

Musa-Nagogo, thereafter, offered royal blessing to the commissioner and wished him well.

The Nigeria News Agency reports the meeting had in attendance ward and district heads as well as paramount rulers in the council area.
