Why discipline, contentment necessary for leadership – APC chieftain

All Progressives Congress Chieftain Moshood Salvador has blamed stealing of public funds on lack of contentment, indiscipline and ungodliness.

“It is not because they need the stolen funds, it is because they can never be content; it is a disease; they are wicked.

“Once you do not have fear of God and contentment, you are not fit to be a leader. If they put you in leadership, you will become a thief,’’ he said in Lagos.

Salvador, a former Member of the House of Representatives, spoke with the Nigeria News Agency on Tuesday.

He said that people with such poor qualities were unfit for leadership.

“The area of wickedness is, for instance, you go to hospital, you see someone dying because of a N10,000 test that he cannot afford.

“There are no injections or syringes to take care of innocent poor people of Nigeria. It is not that these are not provided for.

“There are unseen hands and faces that finish the nation,’’ Salvador, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, told NAN.

He regretted that some treasury looters got away with it, adding that flimsy applications and long adjournments delayed justice in corruption cases.

“Those stealing government funds cannot achieve much; there is no blessing in that kind of wealth,” he added.

Salvador, who said that he had never accepted a government contract, told NAN that he believed in helping the needy.

“My achievement with my annual Zakat is to make sure I touch the lives of a large number of people.’’
