Why we located our headquarters in Onitsha- Oguejiofor, Oracle Newspapers Managing Editor
Enugu, April, 16, 2019 The Managing Editor of Oracle Newspapers, Mr Felix Oguejiofor, said the headquarters of the newspaper outfit was located in Onitsha because of the economic viability of the town.
Oguejiofor spoke in Enugu while addressing newsmen at the ongoing 30th Enugu International Trade Fair.
He said that the newspaper is the official newspaper of the fair and official partner of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) at the fair.
He said the newspaper, now three years old, was cited in Onitsha as one of the viable commercial cities of the South-East.
“Onitsha is our own Lagos before the Nigerian civil war, and till now remains the largest market in West Africa. It is a viable commercial and industrial town.
“If most newspapers are based in Lagos because of its economic viability, we have decided to cite a newspaper in the east of Niger, Onitsha particularly, because of its economic viability.
“A newspaper can thrive here if well organised and with a good content analysis.
“We want to be seen as a newspaper that can influence political, business and cultural opinions east of the Niger.’’
