Abuja, Feb. 21, 2019 ( NNN) A young entrepreneur,  Mr Tobi Aiyenigba, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Toubie’s Creation and art studio, has advised unemployed Nigerian youths to embrace practical skills alongside their formal education.
Aiyenigba gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday.
He said that advantages of learning practical skills could not be over emphasised, as the rush for white collar jobs waa gradually becoming discouraged.
“I did not want to sit at home idle. So I had to start something to keep myself busy.
” I actually wanted to have an art studio, but I saw a need for shoe making, so I switched into it.
‘Though I still make artworks, but not as much as shoes because the request for shoes are much more than artwork,” he said.

He said practical skills would encourage  self-reliance, economic and social freedoms among the youths.

The white collar jobs available are very few, do not frustrate yourself by waiting for one. Create your own job.

“Challenges are there for anything you do. There are thousand others doing it presently, so you have to challenge yourself into standing out.

Aiyenigba described the shoe making business as very lucrative and fulfilling.

He said his monthly income could triple what a graduate would collect at the end of the month.

“We do not have a fixed amount per day or even month. But at every month end, we make good five figure sales If we do our marketing right.

“There are months we do not make sales too but that does not limit us from standing out and pushing through to ensure we get the best out of our work, ” he said.
